9009-1 - Non-Chromated Aluminum Deox

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: A water white liquid deoxidizer designed to be mixed with nitric acid. This product will de-smut and deoxidize most aluminum alloys to a uniform satin finish. Lack of sulfuric acid and fluorides render an environmentally safe product for disposal.

METHOD OF APPLICATION: - Add one gallon of 9009 to every 3 gallons of water. Add half-gallon of concentrated nitric acid to get a total of 4.5 gallons. Mix well and allow to sit 1 hour (preferably overnight), before using. For smooth surface finish, agitation is recommended. Different alloys and different surface finishes (etch rates) require different dip time and bath temperature. However, in normal operation an immersion time of one to five minutes, at room temperature, should be sufficient.

SAFETY – This material is a strong oxidizer. It should not be stored next to solvents, alcohols and strong reducing agents. For handling and continuous use, eye, skin and clothing protection is recommended. For complete safety information, see MSDS sheet.
